Import to Mexico (General Process)
If you are a company, and investor or simply a person that wants and seek to do new business opportunities and find Mexico as an excellent market for your products there are certain protocols that needs to be cover before you do that.
One of the first things that you have to know is if you need a brokerage service. In every import-export operation there are several factors to consider. One and the most important one; the one that will define if you need a Broker is the price of the commodities. For the Mexican Government (refereeing to international commerce) there is a rule* that says that commodities above the price of $1,000 USD are in the need of a Broker Agent.
But the process doesn’t stop in here; once you know are aware of the need of Broker, there are 2 scenarios to do the operation that involves the Mexican party (Mexican Importer); and this is if they have the “permit” to do the import under their own company name. If they do, you will only need to let this know toy the Broker Agency and they will know how to proceed next. But if the Mexican Importer don’t have this “permit”, don’t worry there is a second option; the use of a trading company.
iTransit is a Trading Company that works with different Broker Agents in order to expand the ports of entry and to facilitate to its clients’ international business into Mexico.
